What is the Slack Platform Community
The Slack Platform Community (SPC) is a gathering of developers, builders, designers, and product managers who are interested in changing the nature of work itself and ushering in a smoother, more inspiring, and engaging future for professionals. It’s a place to help others master the art of building on Slack and to make IRL connections with cool people working on cool projects 🚀
What’s happening on #SPCBerlin?
The theme of our 1st #SPCBerlin event is building Slack apps that make your daily life easier. We want to use the inaugural event to get to know the wishes, aspirations, and questions of the community and to lay the groundwork for future meetups.
The event will start around 17:30 at Factory Berlin’s wonderful Mitte location. The night will kick off with an introduction to the #SPCBerlin, and our goals for the chapter. Come meet our team and provide direct feedback on the direction and focus of #SPCBerlin.
We’re super stoked to be joined by two great companies building interesting products on Slack. The teams from CleverPPC and Advanced Poll will showcase what projects they are working on, which problems they are tackling and what challenges they are facing.
CleverPPC is a Campaign Creator & Bid Management Software for Agencies and End-Advertisers from Madrid. They are building a Slack bot that provides automated summaries of running campaigns. A godsend for marketers, and a great example of an app that makes daily life easier. Angeliki and Guillermo will join us to talk about their experiences with Block Kit and share what they have experienced during their journey.
The team at Berlin-based Advanced Poll is building a Slack-first polling app that aims to go beyond simple polling. To do that, they offer advanced options like scheduling features and shareable templates. They are eager to pass on their experiences developing on the Slack platform so far.
Getting first-hand experience and tips is always the best part of any meetup, and #SPCBerlin is no exception.
Afterwards, our friends from the Slack DevRel team will also catch you up on all the latest Slack API news including some of the most useful apps designed to make your life easier.
Questions & party time!
To wrap things up, there will be an open Q&A session with the Slack DevRel team, in which the audience will get the chance to ask questions about the Slack Platform. It’s a great opportunity to gain clarity on any topics you might have when it comes to building anything on Slack.
A great open bar (is there any other kind?!?!) and a DJ set will ensure that the inaugural #SPCBerlin meetup will be one you won’t soon forget 🍻 🎹 🎉
